Racing to School

THE CHARITY THAT INSPIRES YOUNG MINDS
Racing League's Official Racing Charity Partner since its inception, Racing to School works to inspire young minds at every GB racecourse and other unique venues through free, interactive, and healthy outdoor educational events.

The charity really does provide a gateway into racing for so many young people regardless of their background or educational attainment.

Racing to School’s dedicated team has a range of industry backgrounds, including former jockeys who have retrained to develop their second careers, using their experience to introduce horseracing as an accessible sport to young people.
In 2024, thanks to the support of its valued partners and donors, Racing to School achieved a record-breaking year—engaging over 17,000 beneficiaries through 456 events. Over a third of the unique activity days are targeted to support those located in inner city, rural and deprived areas.
Next year is a landmark for Racing to School – not only are they celebrating their 250,000th participant since the programme began, it also marks the 10th anniversaries of the flagship Beacon Projects in Aintree and Newmarket. These initiatives focus on working with schools local to important racing centres through bespoke programmes of learning activity within the community.
Racing to School also delivers its popular Riders’ Programme, working with Pony Clubs, equine colleges and universities to showcase the many training and employment opportunities on offer within horseracing.

As racing’s smallest charity working for and across the sport they rely on voluntary donations to continue to grow year on year to help protect the sport’s future.
